As a chef, proudly to say 20 years of that being a Michelin star chef, i’ve spent years working with the finest ingredients—and oysters have always held a special place in my kitchen. But I noticed something: friends, guests, and even fellow cooks often struggled with shucking them. I’d get asked all the time for tips, tricks, or the “secret” to doing it safely and cleanly.
That’s what sparked the idea for the Oysterclamp.
I wanted to create a simple, effective tool that takes the intimidation out of oyster shucking—something that gives you control, protects your hands, and lets you focus on the pleasure of the experience. The Oysterclamp was born from that desire to make professional-level technique accessible at home.

You might not — until the knife slips. The experienced shuckers actually have the worst injuries because they get comfortable. A towel holds the oyster, but it doesn't stop the knife when it pushes through. The OysterClamp keeps your hands completely away from the blade. Same technique, same knife — the oyster just finally stays put.

The current design is optimized for right-handed use. Left-handed shuckers can still use it by placing the oysterclamp against the left side of the cutting board or just right against the counter top.
How do I clean it?

Simply rinse with warm water after use and let it air dry. The hardwood is naturally resistant to moisture. Do not put it in the dishwasher or submerge it for extended periods. A quick rinse and dry after each use will keep it in perfect condition for years.

Yes, this would totally work for you. The whole point of the OysterClamp is that it does the holding — your hands don't have to grip, squeeze, or absorb impact. You just place the oyster in, let the clamp lock it, and use your knife normally. Many of our customers bought this specifically because their hands aren't as strong as they used to be.

The packaging on my original order was torn before delivery and the knife was lost. I wrote to OysterClamp and requested a new knife. I even offered to pay for it. They sent me a new sheath. Now, I have 2 sheaths, and no knife. So far, I'm not satisfied with my purchase.
This was not what I expected. Oyster knife didn't fit the leather shieth... It was free, so I had low expectations.

Use real leather !! Not pleather !!
The size of the sheath would hold the blade of an oyster knife, but the strap that would secure the oyster knife in the sheath is far too small to securely hold an oyster knife handle. All oyster knives I have seen and used have a larger diameter handle than the strap on the sheath. I suppose it is an inexpensive bonus item to add to an order, but I am not sure that the sheath is useful for a working shucker to keep their knife secure.
The leather sheaf does not appear to be real leather. It looks like cheap vinyl. The oyster clamp works well but the sheaf does not match in quality.
What good is a sheath without a knife? FALSE ADVERTISING.

We're planning a fishing, clamming and oyster gathering trip in a few weeks. Where we're going it is REQUIRED to leave the oyster shells for the next generation of oysters to grow. I would have loved to get the two oyster clamps and the oyster knife that I ordered and paid for. Too bad you have to resort to scamming people.
